Hammers move to top of the table

West Ham U23’s have moved to the top of the Premier League 2 Division 2 after winning at Bishop Auckland FC stadium.
The Hammers youngsters are on unbeaten run of 15 games after beating Middlesborough U23’s 4-3 tonight in a thrilling game.

Hammers young winger Nathan Holland opened the scoring by curling in with just over 20 minutes played. The goal was just reward for a bright start for West Ham, who attacked with poise and purpose and had seen Holland and Anthony Scully go close in the early stages.

Despite an equaliser, West Ham regained the upper hand again just before the break, Holland turning provider with a smart square pass when clean through, allowing Scully an easy finish.

West Ham went 3-2 down but hit back with fifteen minutes to play, Scully the man to bring his team level again to 3-3 with a close-range finish on the rebound.

The Hammers struck again with just over five minutes remaining, Holland providing another assist. The winger worked it in from out wide and Dan Kemp applied the finish.

15-year-old Jamal Baptiste was missing from the side tonight while  Joe Powell returns to the starting eleven.
The Hammers’ next game is at home to Sunderland U23s at the Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday 29 September.
