Hammer Maxwel Cornet has not been included in the tour of Australia despite not taking part in international duty for Ivory Coast.

Earlier this year Cornet had an ultra-rare condition that a specialist in Paris, France, has only seen twice in twenty-five years.

The West Ham winger required regular injections administered to loosen up his calf after he first arrived but the Ivory Coast forward came off the bench against Aston Villa in March to make his first Premier League outing since suffering a calf injury last October, building on the minutes he gained in a  UEFA Europa Conference League victory over AEK Larnaca.

Cornet made 14 appearances last season in the Premier League but didn’t complete the full ninety minutes in any of them.

Cornet joined the Irons for £17.5million last summer from Burnley and looked to be an exciting addition to David Moyes’ side but was out of action due to calf injuries that started during his full debut for the Hammers.

Mystery now surrounds his absent from the Australian tour squad with concerns he could be injured again. David Moyes may choose  to comment on the situation of Cornet at his next press conference.
