A future European Super League could include as many as 80 teams!

A company, A22 Sports Management, has been formed to set up the new league and according to Bernd Reichart, the chief executive of a company, that would be the case  as reported by Reuters

In a statement outlining the preliminary results of talks that A22 had with what it said was 50 European clubs and stakeholders of football, the company said change was necessary.

However, NowNews West Ham – Six Foot Two (6foot2.co.uk)  has been told that West Ham have not been consulted or approached.

And that is despite the Hammers ranking 15th in Deloitte 2023 money league which looks at Europe’s biggest football clubs by turnover.

West Ham generating over €301m of income last season.

Perhaps the reason for non approach is that West Ham were openly against the formation of  the original European Super League and they know that English clubs would be wary of any resurrection of the idea.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus were among 12 clubs to announce a breakaway Super League in April 2021 but such was the public uproar the plans were almost immediately killed off.
