Hammers now ready for the ‘safest’ option

There will be no more scenes like these should the game get underway

West Ham are now pretty well convinced their best way forward is for Project Restart to get underway despite many reservations clubs have had along the way.

The restart of the Bundesliga in Germany this weekend will not encourage fans  the much touted Festival of TV  Football predicted by Gary Neville will be for real.

Instead the world ‘feeble’ springs to mind  with the games most have watched so far having had having a real pre-season feel.

However, the Irons powers that be believe that with a relegation “model” to be discussed at tomorrow’s chairmens’ meeting in the event of curtailment playing games and getting points on the board is the better option.

There will be no vote on such a model as right now the League and clubs are more focused on getting the season underway again – always assuming the government gives a go ahead on June 1.

However, even that is questionable with the Prime Minister’s ‘shape of a plan’ – as he described it – coming under fire from many.

However one well placed Irons source told CandH on the ‘phone: “To play and get points on the board is our safest option now. That will put us in a decent place hopefully should anything go wrong during the nine games and things possibly having to be halted again.”
