Hammers on a Chelsea double mission

Cresswell grabbed the Stamford Bridge winner

It may well have been forgotten among the pandemic miseries, all the restart chat and the low-level performances by the bottom five with ourselves still to score a goal in two games, but the Irons are on a ‘double’  mission tomorrow night.

Aaron Cresswell scored the goal which saw off the opposition o ver there and Michail Antonio was unfortunate to have another ruled out for handball but that single goal gives us hopes of the first double over them in 17 years.

One of the sad ironies of that however is that despite a brace from Paolo Di Canio at the Bridge back in 2002/03 we finished up getting relegated.

However, we always appear to have a chance against the south west London outfit and have in fact won three of the past seven games with Lampard’s team having managed the same three. Yes, there will need to be a vast improvement but it’s not a a game to give up on.

Chelsea have failed to score in their past two Premier League away games against us although they have never gone three consecutive league games without an away goal against us.

The stats don’t speak too badly. I’m going for a 1-1 draw and a goal from Antonio to make amends for his Stamford Bridge disappointment.
