West Ham remain in talks with Lille as they aim to sign Amadou Onana from Lille, amid reports of a [otential hijack from Everton.

The Irons have agreed a fee with the French club, in the region of £33.5m, after their bid was accepted earlier this week.

There have been suggestions on Thursday morning that there is interest from the Toffees in securing Onana’s signature, with the Merseyside club reported to have matched the Hammers’ offer.

However, sources at the London Stadium insist that the Irons remain in the running to sign the Belgium international and are still hopeful of reaching an agreement over personal terms. There is a belief the player would want around £100,000-per-week in wages.

Onana’s camp have been in talks with the Hammers since the bid was accepted and boss David Moyes is understood to be a big fan of the player.

Of course, he has pursued players for a number of months previously, with the Kurt Zouma saga dragging on and on before he was eventually signed.
