Reports that West Ham have struck a deal for Besiktas star Gokhan Tore were tonight denied by the club.

We alerted readers to the reports in an earlier piece on here this evening declaring we would try to get the story confirmed or otherwise.

But despite manager Slaven Bilic being a big admirer of the player we have been told that no moves have been made for him.

Our senior source explained: “Someone would have to leave for that deal to happen because we have our spending plan well mapped out.

“We shall be finishing the deal for Manu Lanzini over the next few days at £8 million and there’s another £3.8 million to spend on Sam Byram.

“We are also keeping a good amount back for a striker but he will need to fit the wages policy because of the FFP considerations.

“We know that Tore has been linked to us for several months but the reports today are wrong. They say the deal has been done at around £8.5 million and we will announce in May – that’s not true.

“If someone leaves it may be possible as the manager likes him but at this stage there is no business on that one at all.”
