Hammers refuse to join Sakho media panic

West Ham were tonight refusing to panic-stricken media reports that Diafra Sakho could be missing for up to 10 weeks.

ClaretandHugh was told by two separate top level insiders that nobody  has a clue how bad the injury problem is until he’s been scanned and diagnosed.

Although the medical staff have given bleak early reports they are clearly – as is always the case -refusing to raise false hope – it’s called covering their backs!

Outlining various scenarios we were told: “There’s absolutely nothing we can do before January anyway by which time it’s possible we could have Enner Valencia back.

“Sakho’s problem is not one we can discuss until we have the diagnosis but the media is responding as if it already knows the score. We don’t so I’m not sure how they can!”

Sakho has suffered either a thigh strain or quadriceps strain which is a tear in one of the quadriceps muscles at the front of the thigh. It can range from a mild discomfort to a full blown tear of most of the muscle resulting in severe pain and inability to walk.

Thigh strains are graded 1 to 3 depending on how bad the injury is with a grade 1 being mild and a grade 3 involving a complete or near complete tear of the muscle.
