Hammers rejected Chelsea offer confirmed

A report by Talksport has confirmed what Claret and Hugh reported last week on an offer made by Chelsea.

We revealed that David Moyes turned down an option to sign Ruben Loftus Cheek after being quoted a £10m loan fee by the West London Premier League rivals.

Speaking on talkSPORT, broadcaster Alex Crookrevealed: “Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who of course was out on loan at Fulham last season, was offered to West Ham.

“They said no. They were offered the chance to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek, he stays at Chelsea.”

It was a disappointing outcome for the Chelsea youth product who is still yet to realise his full potential since making his debut for the club.

Chelsea has previously offered the Hammers Tammy Abraham but were holding out for £40m with the players’ agent asking for £160,000 per week. This was also rejected by Moyes with Abraham moving to Roma instead for £36m  plus add-ons on a mega six figure weekly wage deal.

The Hammers did end up paying big money for Kurt Zouma with a combined transfer fee that can reach £31.5m and wages in excess of £125,000 per week.
