Hammers reveal truth of Carroll and China

West Ham have revealed that the DID receive three bids for Andy Carroll from China and have explained why talks stalled on a possible switch.

Reports emerged last week that the Hammers had invited bids for the striker but ClaretandHugh has learned that was not entirely the case and that the bids were made independently.

There is no question that Carroll is a target for the China Super League but the Irons could not allow Carroll to leave given the shortage of players – notably in that position – they are suffering.

ClaretandHugh was told within the last few minutes: “We certainly had offers – three of them – but there was no way we could let him leave given the player shortage.”

However, it seems the player remains a target for a number of clubs in the next window when interest is certain to be renewed and it will be interesting to see the outcome.
