Hammers silent on Lampard retirement

West Ham chose not to wish Frank Lampard an “all the best” tweet despite his ascent from academy product to a first teamer for six years.

However, the club The Hammers did though manage to wish Ravel Morrison a happy birthday on Twitter – even though the 24-year-old only made 24 appearances in three years at the club.

Even Swansea, where Lampard played nine times on loan during the 1995-96 season, wished him all the best.

Lampard’s time at West Ham came to an acrimonious end in June 2001 when he swapped east London for west, with an £11million move to their bitter rivals Chelsea.
