West Ham have brushed off new reports linking Declan Rice with a move to Manchester United.

The latest story came from The Independent and claimed the 20 year old’s agents were aware of interest from new Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Soljskaer.

It’s a tale that has now been repeated on several occasions but the Hammers told CandH this afternoon that there has been absolutely no approach from Manchester United or any other club.

It would be no surprise were an inquiry to eventually be made but at this stage it seems that much of this could be  down to agents stirring the pot ahead of the summer transfer market opening.

That England youngster Jadon Sancho is also named as another target recalls stories which first emerged a couple of weeks back.

A top Hammers source talking to CandH by e mail said: “This one is doing the rounds but we have received no inquiries or bid.

We would laugh at the £50 million being quoted. Given his age and achievements this season his potential is unlimited and any club would be wasting their time coming in with such a derisory offer.

“And the real truth is we have absolutely no interest in selling Declan and it would need to be an absolutely extraordinary offer for us to think about it.  He’s on a six year deal – end of story.”
