Hammers striker may price himself out of a move

West Ham are anxious that Enner Valencia may be set to price himself out of a move away from the London Stadium.

The Ecuador international has now returned to the club after his loan spell at Everton where boss Ronad Koeman chose not to activate the £12 million “buy” clause in the deal.

Slaven Bilic has made it clear that Valencia is not part of his first team plans and is keen to see the player moved on – preferably permanently.

But although we understand the player to be on a weekly salary of £35k, the striker and his agents believe he is worth more than that and will be pushing any interested club for around £50k.

And given his stats over the last two season which show him scoring just half a dozen goals in 53 games the club – justifiably – have anxieties that they will be unable to move the 27 year old on.

However, it remains likely that a loan move could be made by such as Swansea – who were interested last year or one of the newly promoted clubs.
