Javier Hernandez is set to join the ‘American dream’ during the next transfer window with Los Angeles FC favourites to sign the Mexican.
The Hammers were open to offers for the striker in January but with the long term negotiations for a third forward  not completed until deadline day when Albian Ajeti joined, the club couldn’t afford to let him move on and leave themselves short up front.
And despite him scoring the club’s first goal of the season at Brighton last weekend little has changed with the player in the last year of his contract.
The LA club are ready to pay the Hammers around £5 million for a player who is currently on £130k a week – cash that would allow them to buy a younger and cheaper option.
Hernandez remains very much second choice to Seb Haller and would jump at the chance of first team football as he enters the end period of his career.
