The price that it will take for West Ham to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz is rising all the time, according to Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson.

The Hammers were heavily linked with a swoop to sign the Chile international in the summer transfer window.

Boss David Moyes is a big fan of the player, and had him on his shortlist in the most recent window, although the Irons ended up signing Gianluca Scamacca.

There was a desire to bring him into the club due to his versatility; he can play on the wing and up front, and has continued impressing for Blackburn this season.

The 23-year-old has already scored nine goals in 20 games this term, with Blackburn currently second in the Championship and eyeing promotion to the Premier League.

But Tomasson insists that it will take a big offer to force the club’s hand and allow Brereton Diaz to leave.

Quoted by Lancs Live, he said: “I think the club wants to keep him and of course, we should always try to keep Ben.

“If there’s an offer that something is very, very high then anything could happen in football, but let’s see if that offer is coming because it will need a lot of zeros behind.”
