Hammers to blank permanent midfielder move

West Ham will not be moving to make Joao Mario’s move permanent in the summer should they remain in the Premier League.

The midfielder has been disappointing since arriving on a loan in January and ClaretandHugh understands there is no chance of the club meeting a transfer fee of around £26 million.

His performances have been underwhelming and the club would be unlikely to offer even £10 million for the Potuguese.

Mario has assisted just one goal in five Premier League games and has admitted to the club’s official website that he is finding the adjustment from Europe to the pace of the Premier League difficult.

The Hammers are  keeping all options open on players until they know what level they will be playing at next season but one certain move – should they slip through the trap door – is that James Collins would get a new offer and that Jordan Hugill would step up having been bought as a future prospect.
