Hammers uninjured four

Only four first-team West Ham players have remained uninjured for the whole season and they are Adrian, Fabianski, Declan Rice & Issa Diop.

With Felipe Anderson (ankle) Samir Nasri (calf) and Marko Arnautovic (Knee) all out, questions are being asked again about the Hammers injury record.

Is it our training ground, our training methods, our medical staff or are we just unlucky?

There were always complaints about Chadwell Heath was the cause of West Ham’s injury curse but the first team have now moved to Rush Green with the pitches ripped up and over a million spent on Premier League grade Desso pitches so it very doubtful the training ground location is a factor. There is a conspiracy theory that Rush Green being next to a former illegal toxic dump now golf course is also a factor but there is no evidence of this.

The same argument goes with training methods and medical staff, a succession of managers from Avram Grant, Gianfranco Zola, Sam Allardyce, Slaven Bilic, David Moyes and Manuel Pellegrini have bought in their own backroom teams, training staff, training methods and medical team yet it seems to make little difference to injuries that plague us.

The reality is we are just unlucky although it hasn’t been helped by buying injury prone players like Jack Wilshere.

We do live in a West Ham bubble oblivious to other Premier League teams and their own problems.
