Hammers v Forest: The stats

Stats don’t always tell the full story of a game -notably when it comes to the issue of possession.
That was certainly the case in yesterday’s game where the Hammers had just 40 per cent against Forest’s 51 per cent.
Despite that Steve Cooper’s team finished up beaten a hefty 4-0 by the newly rampant Irons.
David Moyes’ team were always in command as demonstrated this time – at least – by the stats with the team enjoying 18 shots in total and five on target for their four goals.
The visitors had just eight attempts at goal; with only three on target with the Irons winning so comfortably via an Ings brace a superlative effort from Declan and a Mikey Antonio header,
The Hammers came out worse on the foul front where we were guilty of eight as opposed to Forest’s five.
However, this was one game where the often maligned stats more or less told the story behind our biggest win of the season.
