Hammers manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed West Ham are no longer interested in signing QPR striker Charlie Austin but confirmed the Irons were interested last summer before pursuing other options.

Speaking at a press conference, Bilic was asked whether West  Ham would rekindle their interest in Charlie Austin:

“He is a good player and  he has been linked with most of the clubs when they got relegated because of his record and everything.

“So we were also  among those clubs in the summer but we have chosen other options, now we are not looking for that type of player”

Sullivan told the KUMB Podcast last year “The question is whether past injuries will impact on the longevity of his career. Obviously, it will depend on his latest medical, and even with that information medical opinions might vary.

Austin suffered a calf injury early in the season with QPR followed by a hamstring in September keeping him out for four weeks, another hamstring injury in December kept him out over Christmas.
