Happy Haller refuses to go OTT

Sebastien Haller is not  hysterical in goal scoring moments nor does he go over the top when questioned about the goals which many of us believe will be vital to him.

After smashing home a screamer against the Blades and standing motionless as his team-mates went crazy around him it was easy to see why some consider he doesn’t care.

That’s rubbish. No player goes onto a pitch not caring and and it was obvious from his earlier endeavours that he knew the time had come to show us what he was about.

There was bucaneering run which saw him attempting to tackle a defender, a beautifully controlled dipping ball which might have given him a second goal and some deft passes and set ups throughout the game.

He looked like a player that cared to me – forget the absence of a smile – what does that matter? Like many, I had been disenchanted with many of his earlier games but today he was at it.

And afterwards – talking to Sky he refused to go OTT simply saying when asked about his goal: “I was happy for the team. It was a special moment.

“It’s important  for a striker to score goals but it’s all about the team. We are involved in something special at the moment and we are all pushing in the right direction. I don’t know exactly what we can achieve but I am happy.”
