Harry: ‘My Irons time is gone…but Rav’s fine”

Harry Redknapp will tonight learn whether he is the winner of an award for

his contribution to London football as West Ham’s manager!

But whatever the outcome, his days at Upton park “are bang in the past and will never come again.”

Harry is among the nominees to receive the prestigous award with such as Alan Curbishley (Charlton), Pat Rice (Arsenal) and Mark Bright (Palace) also in the running.

Harry explained to Claretandhugh last night that he believed Pat Rice should receive the award given his extraordinary service to Arsenal and his recent battle against illness.

It’s often been suggested that Harry would  make a Hammers return but in an exclusive interview with CandH he declared: “That will never happen. I loved every minute of my time at the club but it won’t happen again.

“I’ve had my time as a manager – I’m getting older. There’s plenty left in me but West Ham is no longer an option at my time of life. It’s Sam’s club now.”

And commenting on  Ravel Morrison he added: “I’ve not had a minute’s trouble with him.

“His attitude is fine and once he settles into the team pattern I think he’s going to have a real big impact for Rangers.

“Is he ok? Yes very much so. I like the lads. It’s all going fine “
