Hearn drops legal case

Barry Hearn has dropped his three year legal case against the Premier League over granting West Ham permission to play in the Olympic Stadium which he claimed would threaten attendances at Brisbane road.

In a short statement on Leyton Orient’s website they said; “The Premier League and Leyton Orient FC are pleased to announce that they have reached settlement of a dispute regarding the future use of the Olympic Stadium on terms which are confidential.

Leyton Orient confirms, however, that it no longer disputes the validity of the Premier League’s decision to allow West Ham United to occupy the Stadium.”

On twitter Hearn said  ‘No point carrying on now we have permission to talk to new operators re a deal if we want to”

Barry Hearn is thought to be on the verge of selling the League One club to Italian businessman Francesco Becchetti so Barry Hearn’s personal one- man crusade against West Ham, the LLDC and the idea of ground sharing may come to an abrupt end very soon.
