Stephen Hendrie has returned to West Ham following the conclusion of his loan spell at Southend United.

Hendrie made five appearances for the Shrimpers after joining on a one-month loan deal from the Hammers.

The full-back scored the winner in the 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town earlier this month.

Southend Manager, Phil Brown admits at this moment in time, any deal that will see the defender rejoin the club is unlikely.

“Stephen’s loan has now expired.” He said

“We’ve spoken to West Ham on a couple of occasions, there’s still 61 days left of the loan for Stephen Hendrie if we wanted to use it again, and we’ve got until the 24th March to do that.”

“But it would probably only happen if Ben Coker got injured.

“So we’ll keep on talking to West Ham, we have a good relationship with them.”
