Ok guys if history is any guide we now know what we need for European football next season.
Thanks to Niall McDonald – admin member at the ClaretandHugh Facebook Group the benchmark has been discovered.
Niall has gone back 10 years to discover the points totals required to gain European entry and has come up with some averaged results.
He said: “I had never imagined I’d ever be doing such a thing but the results are very interesting.”
Here they are:
4th place – average 71.2 points [high – 79; low – 67] 5th place – average 65.5 points [high – 72; low – 60] 6th place – average 62.3 points [high – 69; low – 58]
We have 35 points on the board already and if we maintain our current average of 1.66 points per game it would put us on 63.3 points for the season.
