History repeating itself

West Ham took the lead through a Matt Jarvis goal but the end result was the same as the last three times we have played Arsenal. We have now taken the lead in the past four games before going on to lose by full time. Arsenal are now unbeaten in thirteen games against West Ham, a record going back to April 2007. The final element to history repeating itself was Podolski who has now scored against us in the past three matches between the two London clubs. Giroud also likes scoring against us, with his first goal in the Premier League coming at Upton Park last season.

Sam Allardyce said in his post match interview

“In the end we shot ourselves in the foot with the two early goals. After doing so much to get ahead, not going in 1-0 up at half-time was a big disappointment. The second goal sickened me because the performance meant nothing after that, we didn’t create enough in the final third.
