There has been much discussion about the manager’s various signings – there have been 14 of them since he arrived in a blaze of glory!

As is always the case there are hits and misses and with things pretty quiet out there ahead of the Sheffield United game we have taken this opportunity to run the rule of them.

Lukasz Fabianski: Undoubtedly the star signing – Hammer of the Year last season and top man 9

Roberto: Mixed bag so far but being fair one of two top saves last weekend apart from the rather sad goal 6

Martin: No chance to show himself yet No rating

Balbuena: Bizarre situation; fallen from favour in a big way after a decent first season but clearly has ability 6

Cardoso: Performing well in Under 23s No rating

Diop: Not entirely sure this was a Pelle deal but let’s be generous on that front. By and large he’s outstanding 8

Fredericks Ditto above in terms of the deal. Now settling in well to the right sided role 6

Anderson: Obviously hugely gifted but often frail and often too easily knocked off ball – now becoming heavily marked however 7

Sanchez: Prefer not to go there if you don’t mind 3

Fornals: Very disappointing – plenty of excuses being made but surely we need to sign the finished articles at this level 2

Wilshere: The Pelle hype over his game changing abilities is beginning to wear thin 4

Ajeti: See Fornals No rating

Yarmolenko: Outstanding at times this season and surely can only get better 7

Haller: Everything you want in a striker but not seeing him at his best for want of a partner 8.5
