Adam Hlozek has joined Bayer Leverkusen.

West Ham were heavily linked with a potential move to sign the Sparta Prague striker throughout the last three transfer windows.

The Daniel Kretinsky factor was also said to be a boost for the Irons in the chase, given that he is a part-owner of the Czech club.

But Metro reports that the young striker has instead joined Leverkusen on a five-year contract and will now aim to continue his development in the Bundesliga.

Arsenal were also linked with an interest in signing the youngster, who is just 19.

Still just a teenager, Hlozek has won 15 caps for the Czech Republic, scoring once, and he had played 132 times for Sparta prior to his exit, scoring 40 times.

At the very least, this is likely to bring to an end the constant reports of Hlozek potentially moving to east London, which may well be seen as a small mercy!
