Holland on his big night out

Nathan Holland made his long awaited appearance in the Premier League last night at Wolves and not unnaturally wants more of the same against Arsenal.

The left winger got nearly half an hour towards the end and showed much bravery as he attempted to make his impression but sadly by that time we were 1-0 down and always set for a struggle.

But he may well have done enough to retain his place in the squad for Monday night and Arsenal where he would undoubtedly be lifted again by the home support from the London Road crowd.

With a 20-strong squad travelling to Wolves there was a doubt that he would make it but it was good to see that he has clearly done enough at under 23 level for the manager to give him his chance of impressing in a game which was  always going to be the etoughest of away fixtures.

And speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/december/05-december/nathan-holland-i-just-want-keep-kicking he said: “Obviously it’s a great feeling to make my Premier League debut.

“This season has been a massive step forward on and off the pitch. I’ve just kept working hard and I’m seeing the rewards. Tonight is another reward and I just want to keep kicking on.

“I’m happy with how I did. I just tried to be positive. The gaffer told me to be brave and go one-v-one and to get a cross in so early obviously settled the nerves. At the end of the day, it’s just a football game from there.”

“I’d like to be involved again. I’ll just let this go past me and obviously enjoy it, but then I’ll just get back to work and keep working hard and see where that takes me. The experience today was amazing, so I’ll just keep working hard and hopefully I’ll get more of it.

“I train with them most days and they always give me confidence and give me licence to do what I do best, so I’ve just got to try to kind of listen to their comments and use that as an advantage to help me to what I do best.”
