Honest Arthur played through the fatigue

Well done Arthir Masuaku!

He’s been away since early December and returned against Wolves looking as though it had only been a couple of weeks or so.

And all the while he was on the left side of midfield, that area of the pitch looked so much better and perhaps made some realise the help Aaron has needed down that side.

Arthur provided a great assist for the second goal after fabulous work by Jesse near the corner flag and in general terms was a menace all the while he was on the pitch.

He’s been on a long injury journey and to coin the old cliche it was like getting a new signing on the pitch – he did really well.

And speaking to West Ham TV after the game he made it crystal clear how delighted he is to be back in a team and how much – if selected – he is looking forward to the game against Leicester City.

He said : “It was an unbelievable game and I’m happy to be able to be back out there and help the team as much as I can.

“I knew it was going to be a tough game – coming here to play against Wolverhampton is always hard – but we’ve done the job, we’ve got three points and we’re fourth in the league. It’s very good for us and for the fans as well.

“It was an intense match. I’m going to be honest, I was tired quickly, but I knew I had to get through that and now I’m looking forward to the next game. I’m very excited to be back and a part of this.

“We’ll work this week and hopefully get the three points against Leicester on Sunday.”
