David Moyes have seen a third and possibly final bid for James Tarkowski worth £31m turned down by Burnley.

A Sky Sports report claimed the bid was around £25m upfront plus add-ons of £6m  an improvement on the second bid.

Sky Sports say Burnley have told West Ham that their latest offer is still ‘significantly lower’ than their valuation for the player.

Tarkowski has a £50m release clause in his present contract and is believed to be valued at at least £40m by the club.

Tarkowski – who has two years left on his current deal at Turf Moor has been the subject of several bids this summer.

West Ham initial offer was thought to be £23million, or £20m rising to £27m with add-ons, and they returned with a second offer of a straight £24.5m, or £20m rising to £30m with add-ons.

Sean Dyche has said on several occasions that the club is in a strong position financially and are able to reject offers they don’t deem acceptable.

“We want to keep our best players in house,” the Burnley boss most recently said. “He is a very good player and has delivered for us on a consistent basis over a long period of time. I don’t see why any player would leave here at this moment in time and if so I would imagine the numbers would need to be considerable for it to even be considered.”
