Gonzo gives his ratings
Areola:6 Distribution is excellent and really hastens West Ham’s counter. Not an awful lot to do such was the protection in front of him.
Fredricks:7 Looked fit despite a sustained period out. Joined the attack well and could have scored
Dawson:6 Solid performance but was lucky his miskick didn’t result in a Leeds goal.
Diop:7 Played well and looked to carry the ball into midfield where possible. Good intensity and tackled well.
Johnson:7 The biggest compliment I can give is that he looks like an accomplished Premier League left back. His left foot has improved so much.
Soucek:6 A quiet game but covered for Diop on several occasions
Rice:8 Top quality in every facet of the game. Looked a level above anyone in the Leeds midfield.
Bowen:9 Full of energy and running. Caused Firpo all manner of problems and scored a late goal.
Lanzini:8 Perpetual motion with his pass and move game. Bossed the tempo of the match and finished well for the opener.
Vlasic:8 This was his inaugural performance, everything before has been preparation for this moment. He brought balance to the team and was too much for Leeds.
Antonio:9 Back to his very best and did not give the Leeds defence a moment’s rest. Set up Bowen and was pivotal in the first goal.
Fornals: No rating but quick thinking for the goal in injury time.
