Hugh hands out the marks

Fabianski: Unsighted for the first through a crowd and poor defending let him down for the second but beyond that usual calm display

Zaba: Great to see him back and showed us all what had been missing during a good performance despite the team’s terrible frailties at times 6

Diop: Hasn’t been at his best since the Balbuena injury and uncertain at times 5

Ogbonna: Often all at sea and certainly not as tight to the Brighton runners as he needed to be 5

Cresswell: Very solid for the most part – looks to be the natural left back again 6

Rice: Came close to scoring his first goal in yet another highly composed display 7

Obiang: Eventually subbed for Noble after one of those okay but nothing special displays 5

Snodgrass: Gotta love the man – never stopped running and left nothing out there before being subbed 7

Anderson: Desperately frustrating first 45 but showed much more application after the break 6

Carroll: His days as a Hammer look done – not his system of play – and offered very little 2

Arnie: Back to his best after Burnley – all over the place giving everything along with two vital strikes 9

Subs

Noble: Game changer! At the heart of everything when he arrived and a great ball for Arnie’s strike 8

Antonio: Game changer Made a real nuisance of himself and provided all the energy that had been missing earlier 8

Perez: Err Perez was , well, just Perez 3
