Iain McDonald hands out the marks

Fabianski: Just the one fine save required today. three clean sheets in a row!! 7
Fredericks: Looking very much first choice right back before injury struck. Hopefully not serious as he headed to the bench and not down the tunnel 7
Diop: Got dragged around on occasion, but made up for it with some fine tackling 7
Ogbonna: Another competent display against what little threat United posed 7
Cresswell: Worries about who could replace Masuaku happily unfounded; sensible defending and a glorious free-kick to seal the win 7
Rice: Rescued Diop with a fantastic covering run and tackle on Rashford when through. If Man Utd really were interested in signing him in the summer, you could see why today 7
Noble: A typical straightforward performance from the skipper. Booked for a crunching foul 6
Fornals: Not the first overseas player to find the pace in the PL a bit sharp to start with but stuck at it and put in a really good 90 mins 6
Anderson: I was literally thinking to myself how good a player he looks when up went his number and he was off! He was not impressed… 8
Yarmolenko: A cracking goal capped a very professional first half from us; blocked off cutting in on his left foot a lot after the break 7
Haller: The deft touches and lay offs are obviously the norm now; beyond those, Haller never really posed an attacking threat. Wonder what the reaction would be if Carroll had put in this sort of display 5

Subs
Wilshere: A surprising sub for me but did pretty well, keeping the ball moving 6
Zabaleta: I was really impressed at the way he came on at a moment’s notice and was immediately on his game 6
Snodgrass: A late entrant to give Yarmolenko his MOTM ovation   No rating
