The Hammers were second best again this season with Swansea dominating possession -though it was of little use to them – throughout the first 45 minutes.

But what was truly worrying AGAIN was the Hammers’ inability to stop surrendering possession and to start picking out men with accurate passing.

The game got off on exactly the right note with Antonio testing the Swans keeper with a volley he did well to save.

But it was downhill all the way from there with the Irons being penned into their own half with the the visitors controlled things with the extra man in midfield.

The Irons pushed forward for the first time close to half time with every attack coming down the left but if ever a game is screaming out for some real skill in the shape of Lanzini it’s this one.

A mixture of anger and frustration led to the team being booed off at half time.
