Perez – a possible loan departure?

Mario Husillos’ presence at the game between Greece and Finland, where he is believed to have been watching Olympiacos left back Leonardo Koutris, nails all that stuff about transfer window decisions not being considered until January 1.

It also recognises that the left back position has become a real problem at the club along with the other issues in midfield.

Manuel Pellegrini has mentioned on at least a couple of occasions that he won’t be thinking about who may be coming in or going out until the window itself opens in January.

But of course – with all due respect – that simply can’t be the case as has been demonstrated by the fact that our director of football is busily watching players in the middle of November and probably was a lot earlier.

Deals have to be sorted out – in principle anyway – some time in advance of the window actually opening and I would guess that two or three have been made already

My guess is that the new left back with possibly a right sided loan arrival depending on how bad Fredericks’ ankle injury turns out to be, a couple of midfielders, again with one probably on loan and possibly a striker.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see a bid come in for Michail Antonio from Palace and I would imagine that Lucas Perez could be a loan departure.

WE are certainly on our marks – that’s a certainty!
