Irons distribute Pizzas, Jaffa cakes and clothing

Irons Supporting Foodbanks delivered a vanload of pizzas plus a number of bags of new leisure clothing to Newham Foodbank and a number of charities and Foodbanks in the Ilford area, due to a new collaboration with suppliers in the north-west

Founder of Irons Supporting Foodbanks John Ratomski explained ‘Due to our links with Liverpool’s Fans Supporting Foodbanks we now have access to regular supplies of breads and new clothing and plan to make regular deliveries to Newham and other local areas. We are also looking to team up with other Newham homeless charities for any extra support that we can give. Supporting Foodbanks were approached by McVities who had £43,000-worth of Jaffa cakes destined for landfill. Volunteers there then spent a week delivering them to hospitals, community centres and other grateful groups. It’s a part of football fan activism that the general public doesn’t generally see.’
