West Ham are facing competition in their bid to sign Dwight McNeil from Burnley, according to a new report from The Sun.

The Hammers have been linked with a swoop to sign the wide player from the relegated Clarets.

However, it appears that Crystal Palace are also in the race to sign McNeil after Burnley dropped into the Championship.

The report claims the Hammers would like to pay around £10m to sign him but the Clarets want a higher fee than that if they are to let him go.

Burnley have appointed Vincent Kompany as their new manager and it remains to be seen if he is willing to sanction a sale.

McNeil has been with Burnley since 2018 and is a former England U21 international.

The 22-year-old played all 38 games last season but did not manage to score a goal, and only laid on one assist; Burnley may struggle to get the fee they want.
