West Ham recovery from the depths of the Premier League continue to be threatened by a glut of injuries – notably hamstrings – and a star of our past reckons it’s time the fans were told why!

Phil Parkes has been stunned by the number of injuries the team has suffered with Marko Arnautovicha and Manu Lanzini the latest victims.

Quite simply, Parkesy – like the rest of us doesn’t get it – but believes the time is long overdue than reasaons were found and remedies applied.

One theory put forward is that the David Moyes training regime has put more stress on the players and they are breaking down as a result.

But  Parkesy isn’t having that and told ClaretandHugh: “They aren’t training any harder than we did and remember we were doing so on mud and heavy grounds. Why the hell are we getting so many hammies?

“I simply don’t understand why this is happening but somebody needs to get to grips with it – as an ex pro I find it impossible to understand and can understand the frustration of the fans. It really doesn’t make any sense to me.”

What does however is Adrian’s return between the sticks with the former Hammers keeper saying; “I have never been a fan of Joe Hart’s and really don’t understand why we brought him in on loan as we have two very adequate keepers.

Adrian hasn’t been faultless since he returned but we certainly look more secure at the back than when Joe was in goal. Frankly, I find it difficult to except that he’s the best in the country.”
