Irons know what they must do to escape drop zone

West Ham’s job in escaping the drop zone tomorrow is now straightforward – a win will do it.

The Hornets have lost their last three games against Chelsea, Stoke and Everton, conceding eight goals along the way.

And with today’s results helping the Hammers cause, everybody in claret and blue will be hoping and praying that trend continues whilst the new manager ‘bounce factor’  having its effect.

Victory at Watford will lift the Hammers into 16th place above West Brom – beaten 4-0 by Chelsea today and Everton who managed a point at bottom of the table Palace via a scruffy 2-2 draw.

With second off bottom Swansea being beaten at Burnley, the Hammers know exactly what that they have to do as they bid to give David Moyes his perfect start and lift off at Vicarage Road.

Were the Irons to really turn it on and win by four goals, they would go 15th on a superior goal difference over Stoke City.
