The Hammers have slipped into 11th place following the afternoon results as one of seven teams with an eight points tally.
The Shock of the afternoon came at Goodison Park where the Toffees were stunned by Sheffield United who won 2-0 thus joining the club on the eight point Park and leaving Marco Silva’s team on seven points in 14th place.
Burnley moved into seventh place on eight points with a 2-0 win over recent Hammers victims and Manchester City conquerors Norwich City.
Leicester City beat Spurs at lunchtime to go third, leaving the north Londoners to occupy fifth place – again on eight points.
It means a win tomorrow will take us onto 11 points – along with Arsenal who are at home to Villa – and Chelsea who entertain Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
Should all three London outfits win the worst case scenario is that we will be in sixth place by the end of the day although goal difference could optimistically take us into fourth spot.
