West Ham are weighing up whether or not to make a bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

The Chile international has been in excellent form for the Championship club this season and scored in the cup tie at the London Stadium in midweek, before converting his penalty in the shootout as Blackburn took a significant scalp.

There is rival interest from Spurs and Manchester United, according to a variety of reports, but the Hammers are continuing to monitor his situation.

Brereton Diaz’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning there could be an opportunity for the Irons to get a deal done in January.

He would cost around £10m and while there isn’t a huge amount of cash swilling about the London Stadium reserves, there is enough to get the deal done should Moyes insist.

Brereton Diaz has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season but the main hiccup may be Rovers’ promotion push.

They are second in the Championship and may want to risk keeping the striker until the summer, when they could potentially negotiate a new contract after promotion.
