Irons may launch new bid for target as club unloads players

West Ham are keeping a new bid for Cardiff City’s Neil Etheridge on the back burner until the situation surrounding Darren Randolph becomes clear.

The Hammers still claim to have their former keeper as their favourite  but given that one offer has already been made for Etheridge it may not be at the short odds it once was.

David Moyes is a fan of Cardiff the keeper and should Randolph not recover completely it’s more than possible that the Irons could try tempting Cardiff again.

The Welsh outfit are in the selling business at the moment having offloaded four players already this window so it’s far from the bounds of possibility that a second bid for Etheridge would be unsuccessful.

West Ham have already explained that the first bid has been turned down and that Randolph’s progress is being monitored.

However, they also explained they are determined to keep channels of communication open with Cardiff.
