Irons midfielder’s contract chance looks dead

Samir Nasri has a no better than 10 per cent chance of making another Hammers  appearance before the end of the season.

And if that turns out to be the case he has almost certainly blown his chance of landing a 12  month contract with the club next season.

It’s a big blow to the player and the squad given his abilties but sadly he has been unavailable for most of his time with the Hammers this term.

The French midfielder has been missing with  calf strain since he inspired the second half fightback which saw us beat Huddersfield 4-3 in March.

Prior to that the Manuel Pellegrini favourite had made just four Premier League appearances since joining the club in January.

We were told this morning that he is having problems making a recovery which would see him gain some action ahead of the final game at Watford.

And it now looks impossible for Pellegrini to convince himself of the board that he should be handed a deal of around £70k a week which we understand is the sort of figure for which the player would be looking.
