The Argentine midfielder has been regularly linked with a move – notably to Liverpool – but the club are preparing a new deal which will be put to him once Premier League safety is assured.
Although the club has no need to make a move on offering him a new contract, they will do so under their reward for excellence principle.
Both Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio have received improved deals and ClaretandHugh has now learned that Lanzini can expect the same once the season comes to an end.
We were told by a club insider: “If we stay up a new deal will be on the table for him. However, he has a couple of years left on this one plus another year’s option so there’s no rush. He’s our player.”
