Is this the answer to the Carroll wages problem?

West Ham’s best answer to their Andy Carroll dilemma is to put the injury stricken striker out on loan should he be fit come January.

That’s the view of ClaretandHugh’s chief analyst Leroy Rosenior who commented: “The issues are clear. We have a striker who we probably can’t sell and for whom we have to change the system whenever he’s available.

“Then by the time everybody has bedded down to that he becomes injured again. We are constantly talking about Andy and it’s only rarely to discuss performances.”

Carroll has another three years on his deal which is worth around £3.8 million a year and as the Irons struggle to find an answer to the problem Leroy believes a loan could be the answer.

He said: “There seem to be a lot of issues surrounding Andy but they don’t interest me as such although I believe the answer is for him to come out of an envionment which may be wrong for him and into one where he can play football.

“Maybe a move to Newcastle on loan where he is such a hero and a deal where half or part of his wages could be paid whilst he recovers from his injury worries. Obviously, there would be clauses covering injury but it’s something that might be possible to do.

“There comes a point where the club has to cut it’s losses one way or another and if a permanent deal is not on then I would think there would be various clubs who would want a loan deal.”

Rosenior is an unashamed Diafra Sakho fans and is pleased that he is on the way to recovery saying: “He’s always be my top choice for the central role because he gives you everything and the players around him become better because of the clever running he does. He also does well defensively.

“We know there may be problems off the pitch but I would hope everything possible will be done to sort them. I don’t know the situation and maybe Slaven has tried and come to the end of his tether.

“I hope not but if we are in a position where both may have to go for different reasons then if we can’t find the guys to replace them we could perhaps play a false centre forward in Lanzini or let Antonio do his thing through the middle.”
