It really is time to follow the Americans, Moyesie

David Moyes’ refusal to be open about injury news is becoming a problem and the West Ham manager and football in general needs to start following the example set by American sports.

In the NFL, for example, the teams publish information about whether players have participated in training ahead of a game, and are open about the injury issues they face.

Moyes is the exact opposite of this.

At the weekend, he watched both Mikey Antonio and Aaron Cresswell limp out of the game against Aston Villa and there were some totally understandable concerns from fans over their fitness ahead of a week in which the Hammers are set to play critical games against Sevilla in the Europa League and Spurs in the Premier League.

But when asked for an update, Moyes just outright refused to give an answer, for fear of tipping Sevilla off.

Absolute nonsense.

CandH has had to drag out information and we know that Mikey is 50/50 for the game against the Spanish side, while Cresswell should be fit. It really shouldn’t be like this!

Moyes has given us no information whatsoever in his press conferences and it is entirely understandable  fans want to know about the fitness issues within the squad.

Moyes doesn’t care about that. He is refusing to enlighten us and we cannot understand why.

Sevilla gain no real advantage by knowing that one or two players are injured.

Fans have a right to know; we should follow the American example, and be completely open and honest about our fitness woes.

If every club does it nobody has any advantage or disadvantage imagined or otherwise!
