Paul Ince, Jermain Defoe, yo yoying between divisions on far too many occasions, Dean Ashton’s agony, Scott Parker’s departure. Oh there are far too many downers to recall.
But it may be fair to say that, Dimi Payet’s appalling act of treachery last week topped all – dunno, but it was certainly one of the most hideous acts ever to hit the club.
So there we stood in despair, misery and anger before the team went out and produced the best win of the season with one superlative goal included for good measure.
This was so entirely West Ham…it’s what we do…it’s the reason that despite never winning much and forever passing through drama after drama we love this club with all we have.
It’s an east end thing and goes back to the blitz spirit.
Ok, you may think I’m being melodramatic and that’s alright too because after over 50 years of supporting this entirely incredible, fantastic, amazing, club I can genuinely say: “Unless you are one of us you will never understand.”
The last few days have been so West Ham!
