It’s too early to hoist a white flag

One game in against a very strong side – one defeat and according to many we are down!

Ok, I understand  it’s moaning that keeps us going in lock down times but it’s too early to hoist a white flag at this stage particularly as everybody realised how tough the first three games were gonna be,

The first 20 minutes against Wolves were deeply depressing and it looked as though we had never been away but we picked it up and had Fornals taken an outstanding chance – it could have been different – well never know.

The reality is we remain above Norwich, Villa and Bournemouth – who looked truly shocking on Saturday night – and before anyone shouts we shouldn’t be looking at other clubs, WE ALL DO IT.

Defensively we were sound for a long time against a team that now sits sixth and whom I reckon could well make it into Europe  via the Champions Cup – they really are that good.

There are those who would ignore the Traore effect but we had held on for a long time until his manager realised he needed more – he was the game changer.

With the miseries we have been suffering in the real world via Covid to be beaten on the PL’s return is truly making things so much worse but we never fancied the first three games so lets cut ourselves some slack.

Ogbonna could well be back for Tuesday allowing Declan to move forward and offer more from midfield.

It’s grim right now and we are looking for three teams worse than ourselves .

Tough times yes but let’s keep the faith. If pessimism, criticism and complaints against our team which has seen no action for over 100 days is people’s bag ok.

It ain’t mine. Keep the faith.
