A report that Torino chief Davide Vagnati has been in England in the last few days to finalise a deal for Nikola Vlasic has been described as “nonsense” by the Hammers

The report from La Stampa per Toro News, says the Hammers attacking midfielder, currently on loan at the Serie A club. is one of the club’s ’ ‘main targets’ for next month.

It adds that Vagnati is ‘now in a hurry’ to buy Vlasic the basis of a €15m purchase clause and while Torino ‘have the priority’ on him, they want the deal done in January.

The objective is ‘reassure’ West Ham and ” secure him in advance of other competition joining the race and creating ‘dangerous auctions’ that could see them miss out on their number one target.”

However, a key Claret and Hugh source said: “Torino have an option on him for the end of the season. We have heard zero from them, the story is made up. It’s fiction…nonsense!”
