January window budget issues

West Ham don’t have much money to spend in the January transfer window and are likely to be limited to loans or cut-price deals.

The Hammers have been struggling in recent weeks and the pressure is rising on manager David Moyes.

However, there is no chance of the Irons splashing the cash big time to turn their fortunes around because of the amount spent in the summer.

Moyes spent £150m plus on the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca, Nayef Aguerd Thilo Kehrer and Flybb Downes plus agents’ fees.

As a result, the cash reserves have been seriously depleted, and January is not likely to see all that many new arrivals.

There is the potential of selling players to raise cash, but the majority of the squad are not on the transfer list; Craig Dawson, in central defence, could potentially leave, however but he will raise next to nothing given his fee from Watford and that there are only a few months left on his contract.

The Hammers are in danger of entering the World Cup on a run of three straight defeats in the league if they lose this weekend to Leicester.
